Session Details
About Sheeba
As a native New Yorker, Sheeba Joseph (she/her) was inspired from an early age by the sounds, creativity, and media that made up her vibrant hometown. Finding stories everywhere, she initially entered the medium with a background in marketing and has worked across various audio and media industries.
Her love for podcasting started at a former music nonprofit where she helped launch a podcast as part of their content strategy. The team produced and published over 150 episodes on a weekly basis. In the fall of 2019, she graduated from the Made in NY Podcast Certificate program, where she learned the technical production side of audio, bridging the gap between practical and creative.
Now more recently, Sheeba is independently producing three narrative stories for three separate shows. Her first story, published in June 2021, explores the experiences of a modern-day African American outdoorswoman, as she reflects on the early life of Harriet Tubman and her own connection to nature and belonging.
