Meet the PRESENTER
Kelsey Tolchin-Kupferer
Kelsey Tolchin-Kupferer is a journalist and educator from Columbia, Missouri. She works with teens to produce feature stories and podcasts for RadioActive, KUOW’s youth media program. Before coming to RadioActive, Kelsey ran an outdoor experiential education program at the University of Missouri, designed educational programs for the True/False Film Fest, and started a youth radio journalism program at KBIA-FM. Kelsey holds bachelor’s degrees in journalism and sociology and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from the University of Missouri. When she’s not working, you can find Kelsey biking, hiking, listening to podcasts, and crafting elaborate practical jokes.

Kyle Norris
Kyle Norris is a producer, reporter and educator in Seattle. He is originally from Michigan and spent ten years as a host and reporter with Michigan Radio, the state’s largest NPR-affiliate. His stories have appeared nationally on All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Marketplace, Here and Now, The Splendid Table, The Environment Report, and World Vision Report. He currently works as a youth mentor and instructor for KUOW’s RadioActive program and as a senior producer with the podcast Battle Tactics For Your Sexist Workplace. Norris was a senior producer on the upcoming true crime podcast, Suspect from Campside Media, which will be released in summer 2021.

Marian Mohamed
Marian Mohamed is an up-and-coming journalist studying at the University of Washington. She started her journey with journalism through KUOW RadioActive which has transformed her life. Marian believes that all journalists should harness the power they have in shaping the narratives of people misrepresented in the media. In 2020, she was awarded a Gracie Award for her feature story, “The barrier between us is breaking: How politics brought my mom and me closer.”

Antonio Nevarez
Antonio Nevarez is an upcoming senior in high school with a passion for telling stories. Whether it's a true story of real people with real issues, or a fictional story set in a world that he creates, Antonio loves to share his ideas. Apart from telling stories, he loves music, clothes, video games, and his pets.
