New Voices AMPLIFY CAPTAIN
Keisha "TK" Dutes
Keisha “TK” Dutes is an independent audio producer, writer, educator, and the creator of The Secret Life of TK Dutes. This nonlinear experimental audio biography explores identity, travel, and transformation in real time. With a career spanning nearly two decades across terrestrial radio, digital media, and podcasting, TK’s life in audio is all-encompassing.
Her production credits include acclaimed shows like BuzzFeed’s Thirst Aid Kit, Function with Anil Dash, Good Words with Kirk Franklin, and Open World, among others. As a host, she’s brought her voice and perspective to WBAI’s Rise Up Radio and TK in The AM, a thrice-weekly live-streaming morning show on Bondfire Radio (a community online radio station she also co-founded). She’s also contributed as a reporter and talent to NPR and Slate, and taught podcasting through platforms such as Spotify, PRX Podcast Garage, and BRIC Arts Media.
TK is the founder of Philo’s Future Media LLC, where she helps producers bring their stories to life with intention and authenticity. She also serves as a board member of the Association of Independents in Radio (AIR). A passionate educator and advocate for creative expression, TK’s work centers on healing, truth-telling, and expanding the possibilities of audio.
When she’s not making or teaching audio, she’s likely immersed in one of her many creative pursuits as an extreme hobbyist and visual artist.
