Kamesha Laurry

Kamesha Laurry is the 2020-2021 Borealis Racial Equity in Journalism Fund Legal Fellow for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press (RCFP) where her work focuses on identifying, supporting, and addressing the legal needs of journalists, reporters, and documentary filmmakers of color. Kamesha received her J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where she was an editor for the Northwestern Journal of Law and Social Policy.

Meet the presenter

Mohsin Mirza

Mohsin Mirza is the 2021-22 Inasmuch Foundation Legal Fellow where his work focuses on First Amendment issues, primarily involving libel, invasion of privacy, and protection of confidential sources and materials. A graduate of Berkeley Law, Mohsin interned previously at the California Attorney General's Office and the NAACP-Legal Defense Fund. He served as an Articles Editor for the California Law Review, as the Chair of the Berkeley Law Student Coalition for Diversity, and as a member of the California Asylum Representation Clinic. Prior to law school, Mohsin was the Voting Rights Program Coordinator at Asian Americans Advancing Justice: Asian Law Caucus where he worked on improving access to the ballot for limited-English speaking voters. He earned his B.A. at UC Santa Barbara where he served as the Undergraduate Chair of the UC Student Association. He was born and raised in the Bay Area.
