Jenny is an experienced player-coach who’s excited to support folks as they navigate all aspects of production. Formerly Managing Editor at WNYC Studios, she can help focus and strengthen ideas, including editorial reviews of pitches, pilots, and projects in development. Jenny loves working with audio makers at all levels, particularly those navigating mid-career questions and choices. She brings deep experience in broadcast, podcast, and digital, and can suggest practical strategies for working across formats, and guidance on building relationships with partners and funders. Jenny relishes the interplay of creative projects and creative people: she mentors showrunners as they design effective, dynamic, and sustainable production plans and offers advice on executive-level challenges such as building healthy teams, managing host relationships, leading through change, and budgeting new projects
“My session with Jenny Lawton was wonderful! I was amazed by how quickly she diagnosed exactly what my struggles were (even better than I had) and gave me some specific, concrete steps for how to approach them. It made me feel less alone in my work, and excited to get back to the challenges before me.”
