Jeff Emtman: Private Session (60 mins)
Some scholarships are available for mentorship. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
In 2012, I started Here Be Monsters, a podcast about all the things that I’m afraid of. I wrongly thought that talking about fear might cure me of it. And even though my primary goal failed, I’ve spent each season of the show developing and deepening a love for sound and voice. My work’s been featured in TIME Magazine, the New York Times, The Guardian and more. I’ve edited documentaries and fiction for the BBC, Audible, Stitcher Premium and others. I’ve lectured about audio at KCRW, PRX, Copenhagen’s Radiobiograf, and several universities. Being a mentor for AIR has been one of the highlights of my career. I love helping people learn about sound.

Expert in sound and DIY independent production
Jeff is a mentor in AIR's official mentorship program and has mentored AIR members
Being an independent podcaster, I’ve figured out how to do nearly all aspects of podcast production. I can help you be a more efficient editor. I can coach you on how to use sound and music more effectively in your work. I can consult with you about story ideas. And I’m also happy to teach you what I know about podcast web design and visuals.
I’ve developed a unique approach that I love teaching to other producers.
