Jayson De Leon: Private Session (60 mins)
Session Details
About Jayson
Jayson started listening to podcasts when his high school economics teacher assigned “The Giant Pool of Money” during the 2008 financial crisis. Podcasts quickly became a way for him to understand a world beyond his immediate surroundings.
After graduating from the University of Central Florida, Jayson moved to New York City to intern at NPR’s Planet Money. Later, he produced a number of podcasts for Slate including Trumpcast. He also helped produce the first season of Sam Dingman’s podcast, Family Ghosts. In 2018, Jayson launched Slate’s What Next – a daily news program that focuses on one story in the headlines every weekday. After the 2020 election, Jayson became the lead producer of Slate’s Slow Burn. There he produced a season about the lead up to the Iraq War and about the unrest that gripped Los Angeles back in 1992 following the acquittal of four LAPD officers in the brutal beating of Rodney King.
He is now a producer at 99% Invisible.
