About Diana

Diana Opong is a freelance reporter, host, and audio producer with deep roots in public media. She’s reported stories for NPR, Marketplace, and WHYY’s The Pulse, and currently works with KUOW Public Radio in Seattle. Diana got her start in radio as a teen hosting a community show and has been passionate about storytelling ever since.

A 2020 AIR New Voices Fellow and proud graduate of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University, Diana is committed to helping emerging journalists find their voice in the audio world. Her mentorship sessions offer guidance on pitching, recording at home, working with editors, and building a freelance career that’s both creative and sustainable.

Originally from Ghana and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Diana brings warmth, curiosity, and a deep love for storytelling to every conversation.
