Christabel’s experience and passion for show development make her the perfect mentor to teach you how to conduct research and frame topics for inclusivity on your show or podcast. With Christabel as your mentor, you’ll learn how to explore different cultural topics to keep your content relevant and grow an engaged audience. With her experience as the founder and lead for Spotify’s “Behind the Mic” fellowship for podcasters of color, she can also help you frame your work when applying to nationally renowned programs. Christabel is especially excited to work with underrepresented voices in media. 

About Christabel

Christabel developed and is the lead for Spotify’s “Behind the Mic” podcast career fellowship for early career podcasters of colour.
She develops culturally nuanced editorial podcast strategy through her production company, My Lens Media. She has developed podcasts for the Hollywood production company, Macro and the Webby-nominated podcast, Sista Brunch
Christabel’s essays on inclusion in society and media have appeared in The Independent, British Vogue, GOOD and Shondaland.com. She has also appeared on ABC’s Nightline.
Prior to podcasting, Christabel worked for British, Canadian and American broadcasters and ran shows for National Public Radio and Public Radio International. She has  reported for KPCC and Marketplace.
She covered Ghana’s 50th anniversary, produced interviews with global icons like Hugh Masekela and Nile Rodgers, reported on detentions at Guantanamo Bay and on all but one of the U.S. presidential elections since 2004. She produced live coverage of Hurricane Katrina and reported from the Gulf Coast one year after the flood for “RadioNation with Laura Flanders” on Air America Radio. She was also the voice of The Africa Channel’s coverage of Nelson Mandela’s death in 2013.
