Hillary Frank

Hillary Frank is the creator and host of The Longest Shortest Time, a podcast about the surprises and absurdities of raising other humans, named one of TIME's 100 Best Podcasts of All Time. She also created Here Lies Me, a critically acclaimed fiction podcast about middle school. Hillary got her start in public radio, filing stories for This American Life, All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Marketplace, and Studio 360, and her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Vox, and CNN.com. She is also the author and illustrator of three young adult novels and Weird Parenting Wins, a collection of essays and unusual yet effective parenting hacks. Her latest book is Wedlocked, an original audiobook and feminist thriller.

Meet the MODERATORS

Sally Herships

Sally Herships is an award-winning journalist and director of the audio program at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. She is a frequent contributor to the “Indicator", a daily economics podcast, from NPR's Planet Money Team. She covered the pandemic and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for NPR’s National Desk and has also reported for multiple other shows and outlets including the BBC, The New York Times, Morning Edition, All Things Considered, WNYC and Studio 360.
Sally is most proud of her saddest story, As Many Leaves, which was produced with Falling Tree for BBC Radio 4, and rated among the top ten podcasts of the year in 2016. Sally founded the popular Radio Boot Camp training program and has written about how to find story ideas for NPR and the art of the pre-interview for Transom. After studying illustration at Parsons School of Design the kind folks at Radiolab took her in and trained her in all things audio for which she is forever grateful.

Isabella Kulkarni

Is a reporter and producer who's filed for The LA Local, WNYC, Marketplace, Latino USA and LAist, and has developed shows with Gimlet, The Wall Street Journal, Audible and Lemonada. While at Audible, she worked on the Originals team and Executive Produced several series across fiction and non-fiction. Isabella has taught at Columbia Journalism School, where she earned her Master’s. Yes, Sally Herships was her professor and former employer! 

In her spare time, she teaches dance and movement, performs as a clown and writes a Substack about it.
