You’ve got a great idea for a story, you recorded your interview - now what? How do you weave together audio and research into one great story? How do you write compelling and informative narration that doesn’t sound like a term paper when it’s read aloud? In this class, you will learn how to structure and write a nonfiction audio story that has heart and purpose. 
This intermediate class will cover how to craft a compelling cold open, build strong characters, and write for the ear. Students will complete listening and journaling assignments between classes to sharpen their ear and build their narrative voice.

Meet the instructor

Jackie Danziger

Jackie Danziger is the VP of Narrative Content & Production at Lemonada Media. In this role, she acts as story editor for narrative series like Believe Her, Burnout, and The Untold Story with Jay Ellis. She is also the supervising producer of Lemonada’s flagship podcast Last Day, where she has written about the opioid crisis, the rising rate of suicide, and gun violence in America. Previously, she produced limited series for The Clinton Foundation and NARAL Pro-Choice America. She has 10+ years of experience as an arts educator teaching at NYU Film and Brooklyn College.
