Whether you are already editing in another DAW and want to up your skills, or a podcast enthusiast, writer, producer or aspiring editor, this introductory course will teach you the basics of audio editing through the industry standard program, Pro Tools.

This class is for ProTools beginners.
This Pro Tools 101 course will teach new & veteran audio editors, podcast producers, and audio hobbyists alike how-to maneuver around the ‘industry standard’ audio program, Pro Tools. In this course, students will be learning about the software interface and how to use the tools provided in Pro Tools to edit audio for dialogue, music, film, and/or broadcast. The course is intended for anyone who wants to learn the specific software and utilize it for professional or personal projects. By the end of this course you will be able to demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the program, utilize keyboard shortcuts to efficiently operate Pro Tools at a faster pace, and be able to confidently navigate or complete an audio project.

Meet the instructor

Judybelle “JB” Camangyan

Judybelle “JB” Camangyan (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist, engineer and educator with a strong passion in the audio arts. Currently based in Los Angeles, California, they are a freelance audio engineer who provides services for live events, film productions, music studios and podcasts. They have worked with a palette of different clients such as: Vox Media, Toro y Moi, Tig Notaro, YBN Cordae, Bela Fleck and Roem Baur. Previously an educator at Women’s Audio Mission, Judybelle has experience in teaching people of all ages about audio technology. One of Judybelle’s favorite things about audio is its capacity to encapsulate and evoke various emotions to its listeners. They believe audio has a very lasting impact and is super excited to be teaching once again!
