This class will help you give shape and substance to a podcast idea you've been carrying around. We'll approach your concept from editorial and strategic perspectives, with a touch of operational thinking as well. We'll do visioning and thematic brainstorming, and then hone with audience, partners, and resources in mind.
We'll do some storyboarding (aka season mapping) and consider what makes a good pitch and/or treatment. When someone asks, "What's your podcast idea about?" you'll have a confident, concise answer. You'll be more ready to test the idea with other people, plan production, and approach partners or funders. In this class, you'll focus on propelling one specific idea further along, but you'll come away with tools you can use for future ideas, too.
Who is this class for?
This class works best for people who know the basics of podcasting, who listen to a lot of podcasts, have an idea for a non-fiction podcast, either limited series or ongoing. People who want to stress test and hone the idea, and find better ways to communicate the idea to colleagues, potential team members, partners, funders, and of course, listeners.
