Podcast mixing can seem like a Herculean effort; a multi-headed Hydra of fixing noisy recordings, balancing voice, music and sound effects, and making the whole thing sound cohesive and balanced. This course will give you the tools to tackle this challenge, and produce consistent, professional results.

In this course, students will learn the fundamental skills needed to record, select, and manipulate audio to produce a clean and professional finished podcast. This includes restoration and treatment of voiceover & remote interviews, music selection and balancing with dialogue, and the use of sound effects and creative processing techniques to produce a variety of emotional and tonal results.
Requirements
Techniques and concepts will be illustrated using Pro Tools, but can be applied to any modern DAW. Please have it downloaded to your computer and operational before the first class.

Meet the PRESENTER
Mark Angly
Mark is a passionate audio nerd who has devoted his life to the pursuit of making things sound better. After graduating at the top of his class in Music Production, Mark’s spent his years journeying the world of Audio Post-Production, recording some Anime Voiceover, Foley and ADR, and mixing at Western Canada’s largest Audio Post studio for Film and Television. His latest passion is Podcasting; he served as a mentor for a team of Sound Designers, pushing the boundaries of Branded Audio with immersive historical documentaries, subject specific infotainment podcasts, and daily, always-on news and finance productions. Balancing emotion, craft, and technical skill is a challenge he is excited to continue. His work has been included at Tribeca X, the Webbys, and the Signal Awards.
